Hi! I’m Carmen Dettloff, and I’ve been teaching at Bellevue College for the past 20 years. During that time, I’ve also worked extensively as a tutor, supporting students of all ages and ability levels. I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington, and I truly love what I do. Math has always been my passion, and I enjoy helping students build both confidence and understanding. I’ve worked with learners ranging from elementary math through calculus, adapting to different learning styles to make sure each student feels supported and successful. As a parent of two children in the Issaquah School District, I’m very familiar with Washington State curriculum and expectations. I understand what students are learning in the classroom and how to reinforce those skills at home. I’m dedicated, encouraging, and genuinely excited to help students discover that math can make sense — and even be fun!
