Danielle Jacobson

Full Professor of Mathematics at Bellevue College, WA

I have over 15 years of experience as a math professor, beginning my career at CWU, where I taught a range of courses from Algebra to Calculus II and Statistics. During this time, I conducted research on math education, managed the Math Tutoring Center, and tutored students across various mathematical disciplines.
I am now in my tenth year at Bellevue College (BC), serving as a fully promoted tenured professor and Assistant Dean. At BC, I have consistently taught Statistics, Calculus, and higher-level mathematics while overseeing the Math Tutoring Lab for four years. This role enhanced my expertise in tutoring best practices.

My commitment to excellence in education has been recognized through three consecutive nominations for the Excellence Award at BC.

Outside of academia, I enjoy spending time with family, coaching beach volleyball, and traveling for my daughter’s competitive play. I also love hiking, exploring the outdoors, and traveling to new places.

Professor Jacobson's class was one of the best math classes I have taken. She has clear video lectures, provides note-taking templates, and always checks in with students weekly on their progress. Homework assignments can be a little lengthy, but they prepare you very well for the exams. She is also very accessible, but mostly during school hours.
